Samsung has released the August 2024 security update for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Flip 4 clamshell smartphones. The new firmware is being rolled out to the international variants of the Z Flip series devices. It’s worth mentioning that Samsung released the same update for the carrier-locked units of these phones in the US earlier this month. Notably, the South Korean tech giant has also rolled out the August 2024 update for the Galaxy S23 FE in the US.
Global Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Flip 4 are updated to the August 2024 Android security level
Samsung is updating the international variants of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Flip 4 to August security levels. The new update is live in many countries across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, including India, Afghanistan, Kenya, and Pakistan. The latest firmware is being rolled out over the air in a phased manner. It could take some time to reach all units of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Flip 4.
The new firmware for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 are F731BXXS3CXGD and F721BXXS8FXG4, respectively. The newest software update for the clamshell-style Samsung foldable smartphones fixes as many as 50 critical to moderate security issues.
Galaxy S23 FE is also getting the same treatment, at least in the US
According to SamMobile, Samsung has also released the August 2024 security update for the Galaxy S23 FE smartphone. The update is live for the carrier-unlocked units of the Fan Edition in the United States at the moment. It is available for units with the model number “SM-S711U1”. The firmware version of the latest build for the device is F946WVLS4CXG6. Similar to the above-mentioned devices, the new update for the phone brings several security-related upgrades for the S23 FE.
That said, after updating its devices to the latest August 2024 Android security levels, Samsung will soon roll out the One UI 6.1.1 update. There’s no tentative release date for the new One UI update, but we’ll know more in the coming days.
