More information about the Galaxy Watch 6 series has surfaced ahead of Samsung‘s Galaxy Unpacked event next week. A poster published by Funshop, an official Samsung partner, reveals the sizes and connectivity variants of the new smartwatches. It also mentions the release date and launch offers for buyers in South Korea.
The official poster, which was first spotted by Twitter user @BullsLab, confirms rumors that Samsung will offer two Galaxy Watch 6 models this year. The base model will be available in 40mm and 44mm sizes. The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, on the other hand, will come in 43mm and 47mm sizes. The company will release both models in Bluetooth and LTE versions.
The webpage featuring this poster says Samsung will open pre-orders for the Galaxy Watch 6 series immediately after launch on July 26. It will take pre-orders until August 7, with general sales beginning on August 11. Those who reserve the new watches before the launch will get gifts worth KRW 10,000 when they purchase the device.
Note that these details come from a Samsung partner but not the company itself. Some of those dates may be subject to change in other markets. The Korean firm will likely offer more gifts from its side. And that isn’t limited to the Galaxy Watch 6 lineup. The other products it’s announcing at the event next week, including the new foldables and tablets, should have similar launch and release timelines.
The Galaxy Watch 6 series marks the return of Samsung’s rotating bezel
A rotating bezel has been one of the signatory features of Samsung smartwatches. But the iconic bezel ring was missing on both Galaxy Watch 5 models last year. Thankfully, the company is now bringing it back. The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will have a physical bezel that makes scrolling long pages and controlling various functions a breeze.
That’s not the only change, though. The Galaxy Watch 6 series is expected to feature an improved processor as well. The Exynos W930 will reportedly bring a faster CPU and other performance upgrades as compared to the Exynos W920 that powers the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 models. The new watches may also get marginally bigger screens and bigger batteries. The charging speed may remain unchanged, though.
As said earlier, the Galaxy Watch 6 duo will be accompanied by new Samsung foldables (Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5) as well as tablets (Galaxy Tab S9 series). You can expect more leaks, rumors, and teasers about these devices until the official launch on July 26. The Galaxy Unpacked event begins at 7:00 a.m. ET/4:00 a.m. PT/12:00 p.m. BST.
