Samsung has started rolling out the first software update of 2025 to the Galaxy Watch 6. While the new update doesn’t bring any new features, it does offer stability and reliability improvements. The company has already released a handful of new features to the Galaxy Watch 6 via a number of software updates last year.
The Galaxy Watch 6’s first software update of 2025 brings stability improvements
The build number of the Galaxy Watch 6’s first software update of 2025 is “R940XXU1BXL2”. The company is rolling out the latest update in multiple regions. This firmware fixes bugs and issues with the previous software, apart from delivering stability and reliability improvements.
The new update for the Galaxy Watch 6 doesn’t even bring the January 2025 security patch. The watch still has the same October 2024 security patch. The One UI 6 Watch update brought this security patch. Notably, the company is also rolling out the same update to the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic variant.
The update also brings a new design for the Stress Measurement tile
According to some user reports, they are seeing a new design for the Stress Measurement tile. The new tile shows your stress levels in words rather than just showing an indicator on the circular scale. Some users do not seem to have their notification issues fixed. Notably, the Galaxy Watch 7, Watch Ultra, and other devices will also get the same update in the coming weeks.
The Galaxy Watch 6 series received major features in the One UI 6 update
Samsung released a handful of new features for the Galaxy Watch 6 series in the One UI 6 update. The update brought the stable Wear OS 5 update for these devices. It improved the overall performance of these smartwatches. The update came with a new Energy Score feature, which shows how well you are doing based on your sleeping pattern, activity, and heart rate. Some other highlights include tips to improve these figures, Workout Routines, improved sleep tracking, and advanced AI algorithms.
