The Galaxy S23 FE may be coming after all, and coming with an upgraded camera. Rumors are that Samsung will equip the new Fan Edition (FE) device with a 50MP primary shooter at the back. The Galaxy S21 FE, which is the last model in the lineup, has a 12MP primary camera.

There have been many conflicting rumors about the Galaxy S23 FE in recent months. The conflict was about the very existence of the phone. Some said Samsung will launch a new FE model this year, while others said the device doesn’t exist in the company’s plans. The Galaxy S22 FE ended up being canceled last year amid similar conflicting rumors.

However, it appears Samsung doesn’t plan to shelve the FE project altogether. The Galaxy S23 FE is seemingly happening. We heard last month that the company will ship the device with an old chipset to make it affordable. The handset is said to be powered by the Exynos 2200, the same chipset that shipped inside the Galaxy S22 series in some markets last year.

Last month’s report also mentioned that the Galaxy S23 FE will feature a 50MP primary rear camera. While it didn’t go into details about the sensor, our assumption has turned out to be accurate. At least according to GalaxyClub.

The Dutch publication has heard from a reliable source that Samsung will equip the Galaxy S23 FE with the same 50MP camera found on the back of the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+. It used this camera on the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ as well.

Unfortunately, we still don’t have details about the rest of the camera setup of the Galaxy S23 FE. It’s unclear whether Samsung will upgrade the selfie shooter as well.

The Galaxy S21 FE has a 32MP unit, while the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S23 feature 12MP and 10MP sensors, respectively. If Samsung does plan to release this phone later this year, more leaks and rumors should be on the way.

The Galaxy S23 FE may arrive late in 2023

Samsung is said to be planning to launch its new foldables earlier than usual this year. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 could arrive in late July instead of the usual August timeline. On the contrary, the company may push the Galaxy S23 FE to a late 2023 launch. In fact, according to the new report, Samsung could even delay the new FE phone until 2024. We will let you know as soon as we have more information.
