Samsung has released the fourth Android 13-based One UI 5.0 beta for the Galaxy S22 series. The update is rolling out with the firmware version ending with ZVJ2. The official changelog supplied by the company mentions fixes for several bugs that were discovered in the previous beta builds. There are still a few known issues, though.

For starters, the latest One UI 5.0 beta update fixes the bug that caused the sleep mode to activate on its own. Samsung has also fixed an issue the problem of the phone vibrating or producing a beep sound continuously with no apparent trigger. Problems with the Object Eraser and vibration feedback not working when executing the Home gesture have been fixed too.

Samsung’s changelog further mentions a fix for the animation issue that caused frames to break when entering the homescreen from widgets (via). The company has deleted the multi-user function as well, while Favorites and Recent items in Gallery are getting performance improvements. The latest release also fixes bugs that caused the phone to crash when opening the App folder, changing wallpapers, or using S Pen air commands. Of course, the latter only applies to phones that support the S Pen, such as the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

As for known issues, Samsung says it is aware of the black screen problem with DeX. The monitor goes black if you turn off the phone’s screen while running in DeX mode. The company has also identified an issue with files received via QuickShare. While the files are received normally, you can’t open them directly from the receiving pop-up. You get an error message saying “Unable to open file”. Last but not least, this One UI 5.0 beta release contains a bug that leads to a Forced Close error when using filters in the newly-added lock screen wallpaper interface.

Samsung may soon release the stable Android 13 update for Galaxy smartphones

Samsung has yet to reveal when it plans to roll out the stable Android 13 update. But the update may not be too far off now. The company is rapidly getting rid of the bugs that its developers and user discovered during the beta testing. This could very well be the last beta release, with the stable update arriving later this month. The Galaxy S22 series will get the update first, with the likes of Galaxy S21, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Flip 4 following soon. We will let you know when these updates roll out publicly.
