Samsung‘s new flagships of the year usually arrive with a new version of its One UI custom Android skin. The upcoming Galaxy S22 series is expected to debut One UI version 4.1. But the company is quite generous when it comes to releasing the new features to its older flagships. And it appears Galaxy S21 and Galaxy Note 20 users won’t have to wait much to get the One UI 4.1 update.

A moderator on Samsung’s official community forums in South Korea has revealed that the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy Note 20, and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will receive the One UI 4.1 update in February 2022. That’s when we are expecting the Galaxy S22 series to break cover. So by the looks of it, the company will release the new One UI version to its older flagships soon after their launch, at least in South Korea. Other markets will follow suit, of course.

While the Samsung representative didn’t mention it, One UI 4.1 should subsequently hit the likes of Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and the Galaxy S20 series as well. A few mid-rangers and even budget models may also pick up the new update later on.

Like One UI 4.0, One UI 4.1 will be based on Android 12, of course. After all, it’s a minor update. However, we are expecting Samsung to offer a few goodies as part of the package. Unfortunately, we have no information regarding the new features that One UI 4.1 will bring. We may have something to share with you as we get closer to the launch of the Galaxy S22 series, or perhaps following their launch. We will keep you posted.

Samsung is rapidly pushing the One UI 4.0 update to its devices

Samsung may have begun the work on One UI 4.1, but it still has dozens of Galaxy smartphones and tablets awaiting the One UI 4.0 update. And the company is hard at work on it. The Korean giant has so far pushed the big update to the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3.

If everything goes well, a couple more devices could join the party by the end of this year. The company is currently beta testing the new software for the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy S10 series, and Galaxy Note 10 series. We will let you know when Samsung releases the stable One UI 4.0 update to these phones.
