Earlier this month, Samsung began the rollout of the August 2024 security update for its smartphones. The company first released the new update for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S23, and Galaxy S22 flagship smartphones. Most recently, the August update hit the last Galaxy Note series offerings, the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra. Now, the unlocked units of the Galaxy S20 FE have started receiving the August 2024 update.

The new August update fixes a handful of security issues
As expected, the Galaxy S20 FE’s new August update fixes a handful of important security problems. The new firmware is touted to fix as many as 50 critical to moderate-level security issues. The latest update doesn’t bring any new significant features for the device. The phone has already crossed its quota of major upgrades.
Notably, Samsung first started rolling out the August update for the Galaxy S20 FE’s users using AT&T’s network earlier this month. The company is expected to roll it out to all the Galaxy S20 FE devices on all carriers soon. The regular Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra models will also be getting the same treatment in the near future.
