Earlier this week, Samsung released the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update to the Galaxy S10 5G in the US. Now, the other three models in the series — Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10+ — are also joining the party. As of this writing, the big Android update is available to the carrier-locked versions of the trio. Specifically, the OTA (over the air) rollout has hit units on Xfinity Mobile’s network, SamMobile reports. But other carriers as well as the unlocked versions of the phones should also soon jump on the bandwagon.

The Android 12 update for the Galaxy S10 series in the US is rolling out with firmware version G97xUSQU6HULD. As part of this update, Samsung is also seeding the latest January 2022 Android security patch to the devices. It brings fixes for more than five dozen vulnerabilities, many of critical severity.

However, we aren’t particularly excited about the new SMR (security maintenance release) here. The Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10+ are receiving a bunch of new features and enhancements with this update. One UI 4.0 bundles all the goodies that are part and parcel of Google’s Android 12. On top of that, we have a plethora of tweaks and add-ons from Samsung as well. You can refer to our full coverage of One UI 4.0 features for a fair idea of what to expect with this update.

Android 12 reaches the Galaxy S10 series in the US

Samsung has impressed everyone with its Android 12 rollout. The company has been fast out of the blocks and hasn’t looked back since. While many of its rivals are just starting their rollouts, the Korean firm has already seeded the new Android version to dozens of Galaxy smartphones and tablets. It has been as fast in bringing the updates to the US as well, a market where updates usually arrive late. The Galaxy S10 series join a bunch of other Samsung devices in receiving the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 stateside.

This will be the last major Android OS update for the Galaxy S10 trio though. Launched with Android 9 Pie in early 2019, the phones have already received the promised three major big Android updates. They will now receive security updates for at least one more year before slowly fading out of sight.

If you’re holding any of the three Galaxy S10 phones, or the Galaxy S10 5G as well, Android 12 should reach you very soon if it hasn’t already. Watch out for a notification about the same. You can also manually check for the update from the Settings app on your phone, under the Software update menu.
