The Samsung Galaxy S10 series has started receiving the February 2022 Android security patch in the US. All five models — Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10 5G, and Galaxy S10 Lite — are now picking up the latest security update stateside. The international versions of these devices have already made the jump to the new SMR (security maintenance release).

For the main four Galaxy S10 models, the latest security patch is currently rolling out to the carrier-locked variants on T-Mobile’s network in the US. Unlocked counterparts should soon join the party too. The update should also soon reach both carrier-locked and unlocked units on other networks. According to SamMobile, who first reported this rollout, the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and the Galaxy S10+ are receiving this update with firmware version G97xUSQS6HVA1. That for the Galaxy S10 5G is G977TUVS8GVA2.

The US-bound Galaxy S10 Lite, meanwhile, is picking up the new SMR on unlocked variants first. The OTA (over the air) update comes with firmware version G770U1UES6EVB1 and is already available to users on all carrier networks in the country. So whether you’re using the 2020 affordable Galaxy flagship on AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, or any other carrier for that matter, you should receive the new software package soon if you haven’t already. Users of carrier-locked Galaxy S10 Lite can also look forward to this update in the coming days.

Samsung earlier this month confirmed that the February SMR for its Android devices brings fixes for more than 60 vulnerabilities. These include patches from Google as well. The Korean firm has been seeding the new SMR to its devices since late January. It continues to release the update to more eligible devices while gradually expanding the availability of the OTA packages globally.

Galaxy S10 series joins the February security update party in the US

The Galaxy S10 phones are the latest Samsung devices to join the company’s February security update party in the US. First released to the Galaxy Note 10 series earlier this month, the likes of the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy S20 series, and many others have since picked up the latest SMR stateside. You can expect the remaining devices to soon jump on the bandwagon too.

To download the new software package, head over to SettingsSoftware update on your phone and select Download and install. If there’s no OTA update available, check back again later.
