Samsung is gearing up to launch a new premium mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy F55. Expected to debut in India soon, the device will feature a vegan leather back, a rarity for Samsung phones. Ahead of the official launch, renders of the handset have leaked in two colors.
Leaked renders show the Galaxy F55’s vegan leather rear panel
Samsung has a habit of launching the same phone across multiple mid-range lineups. It has done something similar with the Galaxy F55. It is a rebadged version of the Galaxy C55 launched in China a few days ago. The C55 itself is a rebadged Galaxy M55 but with a vegan leather back.
This means there isn’t much left to know about the Galaxy F55. Samsung has already started teasing its launch in India where it will be sold exclusively via the e-commerce platform Flipkart. Like previous F series models, the phone may be limited to the Indian subcontinent. The Galaxy C55 is exclusive to China, while the Galaxy M55 is available more widely, including India.
As we wait for Samsung to take wraps off the Galaxy F55, reputed leaker Evan Blass has shared its renders in Orange and Black—the same two colors as the Galaxy C55 (Samsung India has only teased the Orange variant so far). You can see the vegan leather back panel with a stitched design running vertically on the left side, next to the camera array.
Speaking of cameras, the Galaxy F55 has a familiar camera design with three cameras stacked vertically. An LED flash unit sits next to the cameras. On the front, the device has a punch-hole display with noticeable bezels, particularly the chin. The phone doesn’t look premium from the front but the leather back should give it a premium feel in hand.
As far as specs are concerned, the Galaxy F55 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset paired with up to 12GB of RAM. The phone has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED+ display featuring a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. You get a 50MP primary camera on the back and a 50MP selfie camera on the front. The device packs a 5,000 mAh battery capable of charging at 45W speed. Yes, this mid-range device charges faster than the Galaxy S24 flagship.
Don’t expect Galaxy AI features here
Samsung will ship the Galaxy F55 with Android 14-based One UI 6.1 out of the box. The device should get four major Android OS updates (up to Android 18) and five years of security updates. While that’s excellent software update support from the company, don’t expect Galaxy AI features here. Samsung will keep those limited to flagships. We will let you know when the Galaxy F55 goes on sale.
