Samsung is pushing a new firmware update to the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. The latest update comes just a couple of weeks after the last release. It’s a relatively small update that seemingly brings some system optimizations and bug fixes. The previous release contained several functional improvements.
Rolling out with the firmware build number R510XXU0AWF4, Samsung’s latest update for the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is currently unavailable to users in its homeland South Korea. The rollout should expand to more markets over the next few days. The official changelog states that the TWS earbud pair is getting some stability improvements, and that’s about it.
Considering the short gap of just two weeks between the two updates for the wireless headphones, it’s possible that Samsung is patching some bugs that snuck through with the previous release. But it doesn’t specify anything. Nonetheless, don’t expect any major changes or functional improvements with the latest firmware update for your Galaxy Buds 2 Pro.
The first June update contained plenty, though. It added a call clarity adjustment filter to help you communicate properly even in noisy surroundings. The update also added two more levels of Ambient Sound customization, giving you a total of five options. It brought improvements to the hearing assistance feature as well. The previous update came with firmware version R510XXU0AWF3.
As usual, you can check for new firmware updates for your Galaxy earbuds, including the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, from the Galaxy Wearable app on your connected smartphone or tablet. Go to Earbuds settings, tap on Earbuds software update, and then on Download and install. If an update is available, you will be prompted to download it. If not, wait a few days and check again. The Galaxy Wearable app should notify you once the OTA (over the air) release hits your earbuds.
Samsung should be readying the Galaxy Buds 3
The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro are Samsung’s latest TWS earbuds. Launched alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 foldables in August last year, the pair is supposed to get a successor this year. If history is any indication, we should get the Galaxy Buds 3 next month alongside the fifth-gen foldables. But there haven’t been many rumors or leaks about the new wireless earphones from Samsung. It’s unclear if the company will debut them at its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event at the end of July. We will let you know as soon as we have more information.
