As powerful as AI is, there’s still a bit of a gap between robots and humans…. But companies like Google are all too happy to build a bridge over it. One example is Gemini Live. According to a new post, Gemini Live is now available for free users.
To recap, Gemini Live basically lets you have a conversation with the chatbot. Sure, you’re able to input your queries through voice, but Gemini Live takes it a step further. The responses are meant to be lightning quick and the microphone stays on while it’s speaking, so you’ll be able to interrupt it with follow-up questions. It’s literally like speaking directly to Gemini.
Gemini Live is now available for free users
Gemini Live is one of those advanced features that you’d expect to be for paid users. When it first launched, it was exclusive to paid users, but the company has decided to distribute it to free users.

We’re not sure how long this is going to be available for free users. Several of the Gemini features that people can use are only available on a trial period while Google collects data on them. There’s a chance that Google could take this away at some point down the road.
In any case, you can use this feature for the time being. Since Google just started rolling out Gemini Live, there’s a chance that you won’t have it yet. We’ve yet to receive it on our Galaxy S24+ in the U.S., so it’s anyone’s guess when you’ll get it.
You’ll know you have the feature when you see a new speech icon at the bottom right corner of your screen. If you don’t see it, then make sure that your Gemini app is fully updated. Search for the Gemini app on the Google Play Store and see if you see the Update button. If your app is fully updated, and you don’t see the feature, then you’re going to need to wait.
