Vivo has announced that its flagship X90 smartphones are now global. The company announced two global variants, the Vivo X90 and Vivo X90 Pro. The Vivo X90 Pro+ remains exclusive to China.
The Vivo X90 series goes global, and the ‘Pro’ model includes a 1-inch camera sensor
The two phones actually look the same, save for the camera island on the back. Both phones include a curved display with a centered display camera hole, and thin bezels. Both have ZEISS optics on board, and look quite sleek.
That being said, you’ll find the same displays on these two phones. A 6.78-inch fullHD+ (2800 x 1080) display is included on both smartphones. That panel is curved, and it’s a 120Hz display. It does support HDR10+ connectivity, and gets up to 1,300 nits of peak brightness.
The MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC fuels both phones
The MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC fuels both of these smartphones, while you’ll find up to 12GB of RAM inside of these phones. The Vivo X90 includes LPDDR5 RAM, while the Vivo X90 Pro comes with LPDDR5X RAM. UFS 4.0 flash storage is included in both phones.
Android 13 comes pre-installed, along with Vivo’s Funtouch OS. It’s different software than on Chinese models, as those phones in China ship with Origin OS out of the box.
The Vivo X90 Pro supports 50W wireless charging, in addition to 120W wired charging
The Vivo X90 includes a 4,810mAh battery, while the Vivo X90 Pro ships with a 4,870mAh unit. 120W wired charging is supported on both phones, while the Vivo X90 Pro also supports 50W wireless charging. Both phones do support reverse wired charging.
An in-display fingerprint scanner can be found inside of both phones. It’s an optical scanner, by the way. Bluetooth 5.3 is included in both phones, as is Wi-FI 6. You’ll also find a pair of stereo speakers inside both phones.
Now, many of you are probably interested in the cameras. Well, the ultrawide camera is the same, a 12-megapixel unit (f/2.0 aperture, 108-degree FoV). The same goes for a 32-megapixel selfie camera (f/2.5 aperture, 24mm lens, 0.8um pixel size).
Vivo’s X90 Pro variant includes more powerful cameras
The remaining two cameras (main and telephoto) are different, though. The Vivo X90 Pro is the star of the show, with a 1-inch main camera. It includes a 50.3-megapixel camera from Sony (IMX989). That camera comes with an f/1.8 aperture, 23mm lens, 1.6um pixel size, Dual Pixel PDAF, and OIS support. The telephoto camera on the Vivo X90 Pro is a 50-megapixel unit (f/1.6 aperture, 50mm lens, 0.7um pixel size, 2x optical zoom, OIS).
The Vivo X90 includes a 50-megapixel main camera (f/1.8 aperture, 1.0um pixel size, PDAF, OIS). A 12-megapixel telephoto camera (f/2.0 aperture, 1.22um pixel size, 2x optical zoom) is also included.
