Fitbit users are getting inaccurate sleep tracking after the time change

It’s the time of the year when we all set our clocks back one hour, and modern-day devices are built to cope with that. However, it seems that modern Fitbit devices are not fit to cope with the time change. Several users are reporting inaccurate sleep tracking on their devices since we set out clocks back on Saturday, according to 9To5Google.

This issue has been happening since the moment the time changed on Saturday. Also, it seems to be a Fitbit issue, and not affecting any specific models. Users are seeing this issue on both watches and fitness bands.

This issue only seems to be affecting the sleep tracking feature of these devices, and not the time telling. People are waking up to see that the watch or fitness tracker reported them sleeping an hour extra.

What’s fortunate is that the company knows about this. A disgruntled user posted on Twitter about the issue, and the company replied saying that it knows about the issue and that it’s working on it.

This seems like it should be a pretty simple fix, so an update should be dropping relatively soon. We’re not quite sure when, so you’ll want to be on the lookout for any updates.

The latest OTA to hit the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic seems to be bricking these devices. The watches don’t immediately brick after installing the update. However, it would happen if it was manually restarted or if it runs out of battery power.

Samsung knows about this issue and it’s currently working on a fix. However, it’ll be hard updating the bricked devices, as they aren’t able to turn on to install the update. We will have to wait to see what Samsung will do about this issue once it starts sending out the fix.
