Vivo will launch its very first foldable smartphone next month, it seems. So, it is expected to launch in April, according to a report from Jiemian. That device is tipped to be called the Vivo X Fold.
The very first smartphone from the company has been leaking for quite some time now. We’ve been getting bits and pieces up until now. Its sketch actually appeared yesterday, along with some additional information.
The very first foldable smartphone from Vivo is allegedly coming next month
You can see the device’s sketch below. It will allegedly be similar in size to the OPPO Find N. In other words, its main display will be 7 inches in diagonal. Do note that it could be 7.x inches, not exactly 7.0 inches, though.
As you can see, the bezels around its secondary display will be quite thin, and uniform, it seems. A display camera hole will sit on that display, and it will be centered. You can also see the phone’s rear camera island here, which is quite large.
This smartphone’s codename is ‘butterfly’, allegedly. Now, we don’t really have much information about the phone’s specs, or anything of the sort.
It will likely offer high-end specs
Vivo will likely include high-end specifications inside of this device. Not only is it the company’s first foldable, but the competition already announced high-end foldable smartphones.
The OPPO Find N is a high-end phone, and it comes from Vivo’s sister company. The HONOR Magic V is also a high-end device. Do note that those two phones launched in China only, for now.
The Vivo X Fold could launch in global markets following its China launch, it remains to be seen. Vivo tends to push its flagship smartphones outside of China, but it remains to be seen if it will do that for its first foldable.
Many other companies are expected to announce their foldable smartphones this year. Xiaomi, Google, Samsung, and so on. The list is quite long at this point. Not all of those phones will be available globally, though.
