Samsung’s latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, went official last month. The company shipped the new phones with Android 14 out of the box with the One UI 6.1.1 skin on top. Now, Samsung has started rolling out the first update for both the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6.

The first software update for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 brings August 2024 security patches. It fixes 50 major security issues found in the previous Android OS and One UI version. Apart from the new security feature, it doesn’t offer any major new features. The new update is rolling out for the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 units in the company’s home market of South Korea.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6’s first software update brings the new build number “F956NKSU1AXH7”. The firmware build of the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s update is “F741NKSU1AXH7”. The first update for both smartphones weighs around 400MB.

Samsung is rolling out the new firmware to the latest foldables in a gradual manner. It could take some time to reach all units. The company will start rolling out the new update in other markets in the coming days.

Samsung reportedly delays One UI 7.0 beta update

In related news, Samsung has reportedly delayed the launch of the One UI 7.0 update. According to SamMobile, the Android 15-based One UI 7 beta update has been postponed to September. It will be a major upgrade for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, apart from various other Samsung flagships.
