The very first Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 phone is expected to launch in the first week of July. This information comes from Abhishek Yadav, a tipster. In fact, chances are you already know what device is that.
The very first Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 phone is said to launch in early July
The tipster did say this phone is coming from Xiaomi, and as expected, it’s the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. Xiaomi did announce, recently, that its new flagship will launch in July. The company still did not specify when, though.
It seems like we won’t have to wait for long, as it’s coming in the very first week of the month. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra will come with Leica branding on it. It is the very first smartphone that comes as a result of a partnership between Xiaomi and Leica.
The two companies partnered up following Leica’s partnership with Huawei. That partnership ended, and Xiaomi jumped at a chance to work with Leica. It remains to be seen how will that benefit the ‘Ultra’.
The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is the device in question, and it’ll offer powerful specs
The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is expected to have truly powerful specs. Aside from the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, you can expect a 6.73-inch QHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Android 12 will come pre-installed on the device, with MIUI on top of it.
A 4,900mAh battery was also tipped, along with 120W wired, and 50W wireless charging. A 50-megapixel main camera is said to be backed by a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera. A 48-megapixel periscope telephoto camera was also mentioned, while a regular telephoto camera may also sit on the back.
You’ll get LPDDR5 RAM on the device, along with UFS 3.1 flash storage. An in-display fingerprint scanner will also be included, along with a set of stereo speakers.
Do take this spec list with a pinch of salt, though. Two different spec lists surfaced, so we’re not really sure which one to believe at this point.
