If you’re a fan of the popular FIFA sports games released under Electronic Arts’ banner, then there’s bad news. The two brands, FIFA and EA, have broken up. According to Input Mag, FIFA is looking to go out on its own and produce its own game in the near future.

We’re still at the very beginning of this drama, so we don’t know too much about what the soccer organization is going to do. All we know is that it’s going to be an interesting couple of years for both companies involved.

FIFA is making its own game to compete with EA

Now that FIFA is a free agent, the organization is making preparations to launch a competitor to EA’s future soccer games. That’s a tall order, in all honesty. EA Sports FC is still a massive entity, and it’s most likely been working on its latest game for a while.

On the other hand, FIFA has to pick up the pieces with what happened and put something together. We can’t deny that FIFA is a large entity itself, but the difference is clear. It’s hard to really be confident about what FIFA can do with the hand it’s been dealt.

EA Sports FC has the upper hand in this match

Not only is EA a big company, but it will also have the advantage when it comes to timing. EA Sports is planning on releasing a game as soon as 2023. While that’s a little while away, FIFA isn’t expected to have a game out until 2024. This means that EA will have at least one game out before FIFA.

Not only that, but if EA also releases a soccer game in 2024, then it will go head-to-head with FIFA’s game. That sort of direct competition could be really bad for FIFA if its own game isn’t up to snuff.

It’s going to be an uphill battle for FIFA because it’s going into competition with EA. It’s like starting a new burger shop and going into direct competition with McDonald’s. More news about this game will come out over the next two years, so we will eventually get a better idea about it.
