Sony’s PS VR2 headset is an amazing piece of hardware for your gaming setup, and right now Walmart actually has a deal on it that brings the price down considerably. Normally $550, the PS VR2 can be yours for only $478 at the moment. Now this is a random sale on the headset and isn’t likely to stick around for too long. So if you’ve been wanting to pick one of these up for yourself, now is probably the time to do it.
The PS VR2 doesn’t go on sale too often so that’s also worth considering. When this headset initially launched it was only compatible with PS5. However, it can now be used as your VR headset for PC too. Which means you can use it to play all of your PS5 VR games and all of the VR games you might own on Steam. If you don’t own any VR games on Steam, now you have a reason to. In terms of specs, the PS VR2 features two OLED displays (one per eye) with a resolution of 2000 x 2040.
It also has a 110-degree field of view and advanced graphical rendering. What’s really awesome is how immersive this thing can be for games. It supports Sony’s Tempest 3D Audio tech, and the controllers have the advanced haptics that the DualSense controllers have. They also feature adaptive triggers. In addition, they have sensors embedded in them that recognize when the controllers are picked up. Which is pretty cool.
The displays also support 4K HDR for visuals. If you’ve wanted to get into VR this is a great way to start. Especially now with the sale price. It would be a bit of a harder sell if it only worked with PS5. That said, its newly available PC compatibility makes this an excellent option for a VR headset.
