The Google Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro are set to be announced in just a couple of weeks, at an event in Mountain View, California. However, we already know quite a bit about the upcoming devices, including a few new features – like Add Me and Pixel Screenshots. This is thanks to the promo videos that we got our hands on, which you can see below.

This first video is specific to the Pixel 9. The video heavily emphasizes Gemini, even concluding with “With Gemini” before transitioning to the Google logo. It’s evident that Gemini will be a major feature of this phone, as anticipated. We’ve seen glimpses of Gemini in prior leaks and Pixel screenshots. This feature is likened to a simplified version of Microsoft’s delayed Recall feature. In essence, Gemini aims to remember everything, so you don’t have to.

Pixel 9 Pro apparently is getting “Add Me”

From these videos, we can also see that the Pixel 9 Pro is getting the new “Add Me” feature, and it looks like the regular Pixel 9 won’t be getting it, unfortunately. Google naturally emphasizes the Pro-level camera on its two Pro models, boasting features like Super Res Zoom Video and Add Me. Add Me is a new Google innovation enabling users to merge two group selfies, ensuring everyone is captured simultaneously, even if someone needs to take the photo.

The video also shows off Pixel Screenshots, which is coming to all Pixel 9 models. This sounds a lot like Microsoft’s controversial Recall feature that has been indefinitely delayed. Basically, Google is saying that it will remember so you don’t have to. We’re not 100% sure how this is going to work just yet, we’ll have to wait a few more weeks to find out.

Google is expected to announce the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold at its event on August 13. Which would be the most phones Google has ever unveiled at once.
