One of the biggest complaints about the original Pixel Fold was the size and weight – mostly the weight. With the second-generation Fold, Google has addressed both of those.

According to our source, the dimensions of the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be 155.2 x 77.1 x 10.5mm when folded and 155.2 x 150.2 x 5.1mm when unfolded. When compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is going to be a solid 1.6mm thinner when folded and 0.4mm when unfolded. It’s also a bit shorter and wider. The dimensions are very similar to the OnePlus Open, which is to be expected since it appears to have the same design and screens of the same size.

When it comes to weight, Google has shaved about 10% off the scale for Pixel 9 Pro Fold. It’s still one of the heavier foldables on the market at 257g however. For comparison, the HONOR Magic V3 is 226g, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is 239g, and OnePlus Open is also 239g.

Pixel 9 Pro Fold will have the largest internal display of any foldable on the market

Google apparently is using the “Go big or go home” motto for Pixel 9 Pro Fold this year. While the front display is larger this year at 6.3-inches and a 20:9 aspect ratio, it has also made the internal screen much larger. It’s actually the largest display for a foldable on the market today.

It’s a 8-inch Super Actua Flex Display, which makes it larger than the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 which is 7.98 inches, and the HONOR Magic V3 which is 7.92 inches. Since this is a Super Actua Flex Display, that means Google has also increased the screen brightness. It now has up to 1,600 nits for HDR content and up to 2,700 nits of peak brightness.

The front display is an Actua Display, so it gets up to 1,800 nits of brightness for HDR and up to 2,700 nits for peak brightness. That addresses another issue many had with the Pixel Fold, where it was very dim and also very reflective. However, it remains to be seen if Google has fixed the reflective issue.
