With each Pixel, Google has really touted its software prowess. Including AI features, machine learning and so much more. This year, with the Google Pixel 9 series, that trend seems to be continuing. In this promo video that we’ve gotten our hands-on, courtesy of Onleaks, Google shows off plenty of new features with a big emphasis on Gemini.

The video also shows “Pixel Screenshots” which was leaked earlier this week by 91Mobiles among other features. This essentially looks like a more watered down version of Microsoft’s Recall that became pretty controversial and eventually delayed. This allows you to easily search for a screenshot that you saved. It “remembers, so you don’t have to”. We don’t have a lot of info on this feature just yet, like how it works, however it does look super useful.

Google of course is touting the Pro-level camera on the two Pro models. Complete with Super Res Zoom Video, and Add Me. The latter is a new feature Google is adding which allows you to take two group selfies, and merge them together. That way everyone is in the photo at the same time, even though someone needed to take the photo.

Pixel 9 series will, unsurprisingly, get 7 years of Feature Drops

Finally, Google boasts that the Pixel 9 series will get seven years of feature drops; interestingly, they do not mention security and OS updates. Maybe Google is thinking about rewording this feature this year. Or perhaps just mentioning Feature Drops looks better in a short 52-second video.

Google closes out the video by showing off that the Pixel 9 Pro is available in two sizes – 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch – with Gemini included. This is the first time that Google has opted to do two “Pro” models instead of just a regular and a Pro model. This should make those that wanted a smaller flagship phone, pretty happy though.
