Apple is planning to announce the Beats Solo Buds and the Beats Solo 4 over-ear headphones on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. But the good news here is you don’t need to wait until then. We have all of the information you need to know about both of these new Beats products three days early.

Starting off, the Beats Solo 4 is a new pair of over-ear headphones that include upgraded, powerful sound, personalized Spatial Audio, and Dynamic Head Tracking, with UltraPlush cushions and up to 50 hours of battery life. Apple has also included Lossless Audio via USB-C, similar to the AirPods Pro 2 with USB-C that was released last year.

Much like the last few Beats releases, the Beats Solo 4 works really well with both Android and iOS for one-touch seamless pairing. With Find My or Find My Device. Of course, iOS users will still have the upper hand with access to hands-free “Hey Siri” and Audio Sharing. The Solo 4 keeps the 3.5mm analog input for high-resolution, battery-free wired playback. You can also use Bluetooth or USB-C for audio too.

Battery life on the Beats Solo 4 is still quite impressive, with a stunning 50 hours of playback, and with Fast Fuel charging you can get 5 hours of playback from a 10-minute charge.

Apple will be selling the Beats Solo 4 in three colors, Matte Black, Slate Blue, and Cloud Pink, for $199, with shipping starting on May 2.

The new Beats Solo Buds will be the cheapest pair of new earbuds Apple sells

Apple is also preparing the Beats Solo Buds for Tuesday, which are absolutely incredible. They will be priced at $79.99 and available in Matte Black, Storm Gray, Arctic Purple, and Transparent Red, beginning in June. These are now the cheapest pair of new earbuds that Apple sells. Previous Beats Earbuds all started at $149 or higher, with the AirPods starting at $99.

In the box, Apple will provide four ear tip sizes (XS, S, M, and L) so they can fit every year. Apple has actually started doing this across all of its earbuds, including the AirPods Pro 2 and Beats Studio Buds+.

Each earbud does include dual-layer transducers that are designed to minimize micro-distortions across the frequency curve, ensuring high-fidelity sound with uncompromising clarity and detail. The earbuds are also equipped with a custom-designed microphone powered by an advanced noise-learning algorithm. Beats Solo Buds will also enjoy extended range with fewer dropouts, thanks to Class 1 Bluetooth.

Similar to the Beats Solo 4, the Solo Buds also come with native one-touch pairing compatibility on Android and iOS, along with Find My and Find My Device support for everyone. Buyers will be able to customize on-ear functions that allow you to control your music, take calls, and activate your voice assistant by pressing the “b” button. Within the iOS settings, you are also able to configure the press-and-hold action or on Android through the Beats app to control volume.

Finally, the Beats Solo 4 will feature the most extended earbud battery life ever, with up to 18 hours of playback. The case also uses USB-C this time around. It’s another step for Apple to make all of its products USB-C and to abiding by the EU’s rules.
