Everyone Will Burn Is an Unsettling Study of Grief
When the film premiered at Fantastic Fest, the first reactions quickly followed, teasing an intriguing story full of unexpected twists and a deep exploration of the grieving process. For Genre Exposure, Everyone Will Burn offers a new spin on biblical apocalypse stories:
“While at times Everyone Will Burn may come across as something of a jumbled mess, those willing to navigate its tonal shifts will find a somber meditation on grief weighted against a wickedly bombastic tale of revenge that uses modern blockbuster horror techniques to put a new spin on biblical apocalypse stories. As his second feature, Hebrero offers an enjoyable experience that makes me eager to see what other films may await in his future.”
The outlet The But Why Tho? celebrates the film’s photography and amazing staging:
“Everyone Will Burn is a film that is a beautiful film. The heavily saturated color palette and decadent framing leave nothing to be desired. Every moment of screen time is stunningly artistic. Hebrero’s ability to horrify his audience with moments dripping with style makes Everyone Will Burn such a stellar watch.”
Fiction Horizon congratulates the director for the risk he took even though the results are not perfect:
“There are tons of films out there that are afraid of having a personality and saying and doing stuff that the majority of people won’t like. Everyone Will Burn is a film that dares, and credit should be given for that. In the end, the film does what it does and does it with confidence. It is one of those films that might not bring anything new to the table, but it is at least entertaining to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon watching it. It is flawed, but entertaining.”
Everyone Will Burn opens in select theaters on December 1, and will be made available on digital on December 5.
