ECOVACS Unveils a Robot Vacuum Revolution at IFA: Meet the T50 and X8 Families

At IFA this year, ECOVACS has come to the show with not one but four new robot vacuums. There’s the new DEEBOT T50 Family, which is their definitive high-end robot vacuum series. There’s also the DEEBOT X8 Family of robot vacuums.

First up, let’s talk about the DEEBOT T50 Family. This consists of the DEEBOT T50 OMNI and the DEEBOT T50 PRO OMNI. These two vacuums are pretty similar, with only two real differences between the two. DEEBOT T50 PRO OMNI has a suction power of up to 15,000Pa (that’s the same as many canister vacuums), while the T50 OMNI is only 12,800Pa. Still quite respectable for a robot vacuum, though. The other difference is the ability to add a cleaning solution to the water tank; only the Pro model has that option.

The DEEBOT T50 Family does come with ECOVACS ZeroTangle 2.0 technology, which does an excellent job at keeping the brushes from getting tangled with hair and anything else that it might pick up. Earlier this year, I reviewed the DEEBOT T30S which had ZeroTangle technology (not the new 2.0 version) and it performed beautifully. I had it vacuuming my home every day for about three months, and it never once got tangled while picking up loads of dog hair.

On the mopping side of things, the DEEBOT T50 Family does also have fantastic mopping capabilities, this includes OZMO Turbo 2.0. Combined with TruEdge 2.0, the DEEBOT T50 Family does a great job of cleaning your floors, and the edges of the room. It now has dual extended mopping and side brushes, allowing it to adapt to edges and corners, giving your home a complete cleaning.

ECOVACS DEEBOT X8 Family Boasts 12,900Pa suction, OZMO Roller and More

Next up is the DEEBOT X8 Family from ECOVACS. This new family of robot vacuums includes the DEEBOT X8 PRO OMNI and the DEEBOT X8 OMNI. There are only a couple of differences between the two, and it mainly comes down to the mopping capabilities. The Pro model offers instant re-mop for those tough stains, and it also supports adding a cleaning solution to the water tank. The other difference is the battery size, which is 6,400mAh, while the regular model comes with a 5,200mAh battery.

Both of these offer up to 12,900Pa suction power, which is incredibly strong. For example, most canister vacuums are around 15,000-16,000Pa, while many robot vacuums (prior to this year) have been around 4,000Pa. So, it’s not going to miss anything.

The OZMO Roller is a new mop that is able to remove those tough stains. It boasts up to 200rpm, and applies greater pressure on the ground compared to conventional mopping systems. So you won’t need to dig out your own mop to get that dried ketchup stain off of the kitchen floor.

ECOVACS has also included TruEdge 2.0 Adaptive Edge Cleaning to the DEEBOT X8 family. This allows the side brush and the mop to pop out and get into the corners and edges of the room, making sure that the entire home is nice and clean. This is thanks to the enhanced TruEdge 3D Edge Sensor.

We don’t yet have pricing and availability for the DEEBOT X8 and DEEBOT T50 Family of robot vacuums. However, we do expect these to launch very soon.
