It doesn’t matter who you are, what you’ve accomplished, or how you’ve gone about accomplishing it; there are some cliches of life that simply can’t be avoided, with Dwayne Johnson making that abundantly clear through his latest social media antics.

He might be one of the most famous stars in the history of the professional wrestling industry – who then went on to become Hollywood’s highest-paid name and one of its biggest box office draws – but at the end of the day The Rock is still a 51 year-old father of three, so there are certain inevitabilities that not even he can escape from.

If you’ve ever been on social media at any point during your life – or perhaps even more concerningly, used a dating app – then you’ll be fully aware that middle-aged dudes have a collective fascination with posting pictures of themselves with a freshly-caught fish. True to form, then, Johnson has hopped straight onto that bandwagon with relish and glee.

What’s next? Is he going to fall asleep on his favorite chair watching television? Hover over the grill with his arms folded while nodding in approval and double-clicking the tongs for no apparent reason whatsoever? Probably not, if only because he no doubt has somebody on staff who does that for him.

Either way, it’s a helpful reminder that some things simply cannot be avoided. If an A-list superstar like Johnson can reach his 50s and fall into the trap of the infamous fish-pic, then it can happen to all of us if we’re not careful.
