The PlayStation Plus Collection is ending soon, but there’s still time for you to get the games within it. The PlayStation Plus Collection was (and still is) a great deal on games if you purchased a PS5 when it was introduced back in 2020. It was a way for those who bought the new console to score some free titles. A particularly excellent value if you wanted to fill up your library. The collection is really only worth it for first-time PlayStation console buyers. Or those who simply didn’t own some or all of the games in the collection.
That stands true today, more than two years after the PS5’s launch. Which is why you shouldn’t waste any time in booting up your PS5 and claiming every game available. This morning, Sony officially confirmed it would be ending the PlayStation Plus Collection this year. That doesn’t mean you’ll lose your games, if you claim them before it goes away.
Claim the PlayStation Plus Collection games before May 9
With the collection no longer being offered from May 9 onwards, you have a few months to pick and choose what you want. Be aware, though, that just like with the monthly free games Sony offers, you’ll need to subscribe to PlayStation Plus. You can be on any of the three available plans – Essential, Extra, or Premium – and be eligible for the offer. The other caveat being of course, that you have to have a PS5.
There are 20 games in the collection from the PS4 era that you can snag if you do so before May 9. This includes mostly huge hits. Such as God Of War, Call Of Duty: Black Ops III, Infamous Second Son, The Last Of Us Remastered, and more.
Also worth noting is that as long as you claim them before the offer is removed, you can keep the games and the play them whenever you wish. As long as your PlayStation Plus subscription is active, of course.
