Many consumers expect flagship smartphones to offer 1TB storage options. Does the Sony Xperia 1 VII come in a 1TB storage flavor? Well, no, it does not, unfortunately.
The Sony Xperia 1 VII does not come in a 1TB storage option
Sony has announced 256GB and 512GB storage options for the phone. Not even the Japanese variant of the phone doesn’t offer 1TB of storage. It does offer 16GB of RAM, unlike the global model, but not more storage.
If you find this disappointing, there’s really no reason to. Why? Well, because the Sony Xperia 1 VII comes with a microSD card slot. In other words, regardless of whether you get a 256GB or 512GB storage variant of the phone, you can expand upon that, considerably.
The phone can receive a microSD card of up to 2 TB. So you can technically get up to 2.5TB of storage, if you need to. Even if you get a 256GB storage variant of the phone, you’ll be able to go well above 2TB of storage overall.
This is one of few flagship smartphones that allow storage expansion
That should be plenty for everything you need. Sony is one of the few smartphone manufacturers that still offer a microSD card slot on its flagships. Some people still stick with the company because of that.
That gives you way more space for your photos, videos, and whatever you want to store directly on the phone, without using the cloud storage in the process. The phone even has an audio jack, which is also not a common occurrence when it comes to flagship smartphones.
The Sony Xperia 1 VII uses LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage, in case you were wondering. So, Sony didn’t really cut corners in that regard either, you’re getting truly fast RAM and storage here. If you’d like to check out the rest of the Sony Xperia 1 VII specs, feel free to.
