The Diablo Immortal release has started off strong with the game reaching more than 1 million downloads on Google Play within the first 48 hours of the game’s launch. While the App Store over on iOS doesn’t show download numbers, Blizzard has confirmed that it is now the #1 downloaded game on the US App Store.
It seems like quite an accomplishment with the game only having launched on June 2 officially. What’s more is that it’s currently the #1 downloaded game on Android. In the Play Store head to the Top Free Games category and you should find Diablo Immortal at the top. While we can’t account for how well the game is doing in other regions, Blizzard has at least confirmed this isn’t a US-only thing.
According to the company, Diablo Immortal is #1 in the US App Store and more than 40 other regions worldwide. So, it’s a good bet that the game is doing just as well on Android in those same regions. Or some of them at the very least.
The Diablo Immortal release seems to have gone off without a hitch
For the most part, Diablo Immortal appears to have been met with positive reactions. On Android, it has a 4.5 star rating with 251K reviews. On the App Store it has a much smaller 23K reviews but a slightly higher 4.7 star rating. Pair that with the overall number of downloads across platforms, and the game is off to a great start.
Time will tell if it can keep this upward momentum. But it feels unlikely that it will be slowing down anytime soon. Especially if Activision’s continued success with Call of Duty: Mobile is anything to go by.
One thing to keep in mind is that the download numbers across mobile only account for mobile. Obviously. But since the game is also available on PC, its overall popularity is arguably higher than what can be perceived through mobile download numbers.
Diablo Immortal is available for free to download on Android, iOS, and PC through Battle Net. If you want to learn more about the game you can check out our guide on it here.
