Samsung is rumored to begin public beta testing of its Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update for Galaxy devices next week. Leaks suggest it will bring a major UI overhaul and icon redesign. We have already seen some of the redesigned icons and revamped stock camera app UI in leaked screenshots. A fresh leak shows more One UI 7.0 design changes, including the Quick Panel and Settings app.

More One UI 7.0 design changes revealed in new leak

Over the past few days, tipster @chunvn8888 has been leaking Samsung’s redesigned One UI 7.0 app icons and system UI on X (formerly Twitter). They recently teamed up with Smartprix to reveal more. Per the new leak, the upcoming update with introduce a new design for the Quick Panel. The top buttons for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth now have a pill-shaped design instead of rounded rectangles. They appear to take up less space than on One UI 6.1.

Samsung has also categorized a few more buttons below the swipeable Quick Panel. In short, you now see more buttons at once. The report says One UI 7.0 lets you pull down the Quick Panel only from the top-right part of your screen. The top-left part brings down the notification panel. Currently, it’s a single panel that you can pull down from either side. The first pull shows a few buttons with notifications below them. You can pull again to see more buttons.

Some of you might be aware that Xiaomi’s HyperOS and Apple’s iOS already offer separate dropdowns for notifications and quick settings. SamMobile says you can switch between the two pages by swiping left/right, which makes things convenient if you accidentally pull down the wrong page (because it takes time to get used to these UI changes). Like on HyperOS and a few other custom skins, you also have the option to hide Quick Panel icon labels.

A Dynamic Island-type shortcut is coming to One UI

One UI 7.0 will also introduce a new shortcut pill that appears at the top of the screen when certain apps are active, including the stopwatch. It lets you quickly access the app without leaving the current screen. The idea is drawn from Apple’s Dynamic Island but Samsung has added its design flavors to it. While the pill sits at the center on iOS, One UI 7.0 keeps it on the left side, next to the omnipresent clock.

The leaked screenshots suggest in-app menus and UI will also have more rounded housings. One UI 7.0 will also bring task continuity, letting you seamlessly move calls and other tasks between your phone, tablet, and other compatible devices. Additionally, Samsung is said to be working on making system animations smoother for a more fluid visual experience. Stay tuned for the official release of Android 15-based One UI 7.0 beta.
