VMI Worldwide Is Going Strong

VMI
VMI Worldwide

VMI Worldwide was founded in 2010 by Andre Relix. The company focuses on producing and distributing documentaries, feature films, and TV content. Throughout their decade of activity, the company has score numerous projects with names such as Nicholas Cage, Adrien Brody, Melissa Joan Hart, and more, with the production company also due to bring action superstar Jean-Claude Van Damme back to theaters.

One recently announced title of theirs is The Ballad of Davy Crockett, which will star former Chronicles of Narnia alumni, William Moseley, as the legend himself. Colm Meaney (Con Air) is also co-starring in the film directed and produced by Derek Estlin Purvis. VMI Worldwide announced that they picked up the rights to distribute the film last September.

Another title recently acquired by the company is Don’t Suck, directed by RJ Collins. Jamie Kennedy plays Pete, a tired comedian looking for an opener for his comedy tour. Enter Ethan, played by Matt Rife, a young comedian looking for a gig. Everything goes smoothly until Pete discovers that Ethan is a vampire, which obviously throws a wrench into their relationship. But as the two continue their tour, they discover more about each other, along with the ties between comedy and the world of darkness.

Don’t Suck features multiple cameos from comedians such as Jimmie Walker, Russel Peters, Jimmy Shubert, Matt Rife, and Carrot Top.

In the world of big studio monopolies towering above streaming services, it’s always refreshing to see another company throw their hat in the ring. Despite only being around for a little over a decade, VMI is already finding their footing with their method of pairing strong scripts with capable actors. Be sure to keep an eye out, there’s sure to be more to come!
