Summary: Currently, Walmart does not carry the Pixel 9a. But that doesn’t mean that it can’t change over the coming months. You can still buy it from other retailers, including the Google Store.
The Google Pixel 9a is not available from Walmart, yet. This could change as Google gets more stock out for the Pixel 9a. If you recall, Google had to delay the launch due to an issue with a component. And since then, we’ve seen some retailers not have any stock, and others (like Amazon) are slated to ship them months later.
Walmart does carry other Pixel devices ,including the Pixel 8a. So it could come to Walmart later on. But for now, the best place to pick up the Pixel 9a is going to be from the Google Store. And if you pay for Google One, you can get up to 10% cash back on your purchase.
Despite its delay, the Pixel 9a is still a solid $500 smartphone
The Google Pixel 9a, while on paper it doesn’t look all that great, is actually a really great option for under $500. Especially in a world where the iPhone 16e costs $599. The Pixel 9a also has the largest battery ever in a Pixel device, with a 5,100mAh capacity battery. In our testing, we found that it outperformed every other Pixel we’ve reviewed, and kept up with flagships like the Galaxy S25 Ultra and OnePlus 13. In fact, it has a larger battery than the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Despite Google opting for a smaller sensor at a lower resolution on the Pixel 9a this year, the camera is still pretty good. Remember that Google has some fantastic computational photography chops, and it tends to work out better on smaller sensors. Like what the Pixel 9a sports.
If you’re thinking about grabbing the Pixel 9a, Amazon is a great place to pick one up. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to get it anytime soon, as Amazon has it set to release on June 1, for some reason. So you might be waiting a bit, if you decide to grab it at Amazon.
