The Aqara Smart Lock U100 has been pretty popular recently, because it does support Apple Home Key, which is a more secure way to provide keys to those that live in your home, and those that might need access to water your plants, or take care of your cat while you’re away. But the Aqara Smart Lock U100 isn’t just made for Apple users, as it does also support Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and IFTTT. Allowing you to use your voice to lock and unlock your front door.
The deadbolt has a touchscreen on the front, so you can put in a PIN to unlock your home. But there’s also a fingerprint sensor in the middle. This is going to be more secure, as your fingerprint will be the only one that works. It can recognize up to 50 fingerprints, which makes it perfect for home, but also great for businesses, that need to give access to many people to unlock the office and get to start the day.
Aqara’s app will allow you to create one-time local passwords for visitor, and configurable passwords. There is a mechanical key available for emergency use, however that is an NFC card and it is not included in this package.
With the U100, you can unlock your home so easily. Just tap your phone, or your watch to unlock your home. You can also use your fingerprint or type in your PIN. However, with IFTTT you can create some rather cool automations, like automatically unlocking the door when you get home. This makes it easier to bring in those groceries that you have in your hands instead of making two trips from the car – we all do it.
