HONOR’s new MagicPad 2 is the most-powerful Android Tablet on the market

There aren’t many OEMs still making tablets running Android, but HONOR is one that isn’t giving up and, in fact, is making some of the best Android tablets right now. The new MagicPad 2 was announced at IFA last week, which is a super slim yet powerful tablet. Inside, you’ll find the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, with up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of storage. It also has a stunning 144Hz 12.3-inch OLED display.

With the MagicPad 2, HONOR is also spending a lot of time talking about its Eye Comfort Display. This is a bigger deal than it might sound like. These days, many of us spend all day looking at different screens. Whether that’s a phone screen, tablet, laptop or TV. And that does actually hurt our eyes. HONOR is aiming to change that with its Eye Comfort Display. It has multidirectional eye protection from the perspectives of flicker, color temperature, brightness and blue light. It also has an industry-leading 4,320Hz ultra-high frequency PWM dimming.

The HONOR MagicPad 2 is also fairly slim at 5.8mm thick. That’s less than a millimeter thicker than the iPad Pro 13 that was announced earlier this year. Though it is lighter than the iPad Pro 13, despite having a 12.3-inch display. It’s just 550g, versus the iPad Pro’s 579g.

The best device for consuming media

In addition to that stunningly bright OLED display, HONOR isn’t forgetting about the other aspect that matters for consuming media. And that’s the speakers. HONOR has included eight subwoofers here, which helps the MagicPad 2 to cover 100% of the ultra-wide sound field. It’s really hard to describe in written text how good the sound quality is, but it’s one of the best sounding tablets I’ve ever used.

On top of that, the MagicPad 2 is also certified for IMAX Enhanced to provide cinema-level audio-visual enjoyment. Making it great to take on a plane for those long flights, to watch plenty of movies. Versus watching on those small, crappy screens in the back of the seat in front of you.

This is why HONOR has earned a Best of IFA award for 2024 from Android Headlines.
