Incredibly light 14.6-inch laptop with a detachable camera.

HONOR announced several products at IFA 2024, and one of them was the HONOR MagicBook Art 14, the recipient of one of our ‘Best of IFA 2024’ awards. This product is a tablet, but not just any tablet. Its design is what impressed us the most, even though it’s impressive in general. We’ve had it for a while before IFA 2024 kicked off, and already have a review out too. I managed to become quite familiar with it during my use, so let’s talk about it.

HONOR used both titanium & magnesium here

HONOR used both titanium and magnesium as build materials here. The company created a laptop with a 14.6-inch display that is almost the lightest laptop on the market between both 13 and 14-inch laptops. It weighs only 1 kg. On top of it being light, it’s also very thin despite the fact that the company didn’t really skimp out on ports. Many companies leave us only with Type-C USB ports on the sides with laptops this thin, but not HONOR.

You’re getting two Type-C ports, one of which is a Thunderbolt 4 port. A Type-A port is also available, as is an HDMI port. The company didn’t even remove an audio jack either. Something else that you’ll find on the side is the device’s camera. Yes, on the side. It’s tucked away inside the laptop, and when you need it, you simply push in, take it, and magnetize it to the very top of the screen.

The HONOR MagicBook Art 14 has a detachable camera with magnets

Detaching that camera is also something that helped HONOR create a truly visually appealing device here. The bezels around the display are very slim. That’s not all, though, not even close. The keyboard on the device is really well-made, and despite the thinness here, it has a 1.55m key travel. The speakers flanking the keyboard are more than powerful enough, and the whole tablet has a matte finish, resistant to fingerprints.

The HONOR MagicBook Art 14 doesn’t disappoint in the performance department either. This laptop has a very powerful chip on the inside. We’ve tested the model with Intel’s chip, but a Snapdragon variant is also coming. While it may not be a gaming machine, it sure is a productivity machine. If you’re looking for a very light and thin laptop, or shall I say ultrabook, that can get the job done, the HONOR MagicBook Art 14 is an outstanding choice, much deserving of this award.
