Rokid teaches us what AR is all about with its AR Spatial Glasses.
CES has been full of amazing technological advancements, and some of them include the burgeoning AR market. Among the companies looking to put the world in front of your eyes, we have Rokid. This is a company that makes smart glasses similar to what we saw with the Google Glass years ago along with industrial goggles sporting a similar technology. At CES, Rokid introduced us to the Rokid AR Spatial.
Just like the other models, the Rokid AR Spatial glasses show you an interactive interface. In it, you’re able to run apps, watch media, play games, do work, and so on. However, they also allow you to see the world around you. So, they perform similarly to traditional glasses. This is how the company’s other glasses perform.
What makes the Rokid AR Spatial different from the others is just how compact they are. They have a much smaller profile. The other glasses from Rokid like the Rokid Max are obviously technological devices on top of a pair of glasses. The tech components are rather large and bulky. However, the new AR Spatial are much thinner. They still don’t like a typical pair of glasses, but they’re much closer. Not only do they look more natural, but they’re much lighter.
The visuals
These glasses look more natural, but it’s not just about what other people see. When you put them on, you’re looking at a micro OLED display with a 100,000:1 contrast ratio, so watching media will be a treat. Also, it has a 120Hz refresh rate and a decent 600 nits of brightness. So, you will be able to view your content comfortably in most environments.
When you use these glasses, you’ll be using Rokid’s proprietary operating system. However, you’re able to run Android apps on it and connect to other platforms like computers, your Nintendo Switch, and your Steam Deck. So, this is a device for both work and play.
Because it brings such a powerful experience to such a compact form factor, the Rokid AR Spatial earned the Android Headlines award for Best of CES 2025.
