Samsung just unveiled the Exynos 2200 chipset earlier today, and now getting some crucial information regarding the chipset’s performance on the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Tipster Ishan Agarwal (via MySmartPrice) has uncovered benchmark information for the new flagship from sources like AnTuTu, Geekbench, and GFXBench.
The Exynos 2200 variant of the Galaxy S22 Ultra has reportedly scored 1,108 and 3,516 points in the single and multi-core Geekbench tests, respectively. Furthermore, the flagship scored 965,874 on AnTuTu and 109 FPS on the GFXbench Aztec ruins test (normal).
It’s not uncommon to come across detailed benchmark scores of a smartphone ahead of its release. As manufacturers keep testing their devices before release, scores, and results make their way into benchmarking databases.
Although Samsung unveiled the Exynos 2200 today, the company didn’t share the CPU clock speed of the chipset. This has understandably raised speculation that the company is perhaps underprepared for the new chip. Announcing the chipset was a crucial first step for Samsung. Older reports said the company would only unveil the SoC during the Galaxy S22 launch next month.

Samsung said the new Exynos 2200 utilizes the 4nm EUV (extreme ultra violet) lithography processing tech for superior efficiency. The hotly anticipated AMD GPU is also on board, promising “console quality graphics on mobile.”
In line with previous reports, we learned that the new Samsung chipset would feature an ARM Cortex-X2 core bringing a vastly improved peak performance. This powerful core is accompanied by three Cortex-A710 cores and four Cortex-A510 cores.
Samsung claims the onboard Neural Processing Unit (NPU) reportedly brings a 2X performance improvement compared to the Exynos 2100. The GPU of the Exynos 2200 has caught the imagination of the tech industry, and Samsung didn’t disappoint.
The new flagship SoC sports the Samsung Eclipse 920 GPU, which is based on the AMD RDNA 2 architecture. Among the notable features of this GPU are VRS or variable rate shading and ray tracing support.
As you probably know already, Samsung will offer some variants of the Galaxy S22 lineup with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Early reports claim the Exynos 2200 is significantly lacking compared to Qualcomm’s latest offering, so there are some significant concerns ahead for the South Korean manufacturer.
