Awkwafina & Sandra Oh Unite for Quiz Lady
Both Awkwafina and Sandra Oh have made a name for themselves within the industry, collecting some very interesting titles in their respective filmographies. After the ending of Killing Eve last year, one of her most acclaimed projects, Sandra Oh has not stopped. She has mostly lent her voice to characters in big productions like Pixar’s Turning Red, Prime Video’s Invincible, Netflix’s The Sandman, and Max’s Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai. Last year she starred in Iris K. Shim horror film Umma, while her next project is the dark comedy series The Sympathizer, which is set to be released next year.
Awkwafina, for her part, has been even more busy than her Quiz Lady co-star. This year only she starred in Universal Pictures’ comedy Renfield, joining Nicholas Hoult and Nicolas Cage in a modern and fun take on the relationship between Dracula and his assistant. She then played the part of Scuttle in The Little Mermaid‘s live-action remake, where she gets to sing her own song. She still has another major release set for this year besides Quiz Lady, Illumination’s upcoming animated adventure Migration.
Next year, Awkwafina will join the world of Kung Fu Panda for the fourth installment in the franchise. She will also lend her voice as an imaginary friend in John Krasinki’s comedy IF, which stars Ryan Reynolds leading the live-action cast, and brings together an incredible ensemble for the voice roles, including Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Steve Carell, Matt Damon Emily Blunt, Maya Rudolph, Vince Vaughn, Sam Rockwell, Sebastian Maniscalco, Christopher Meloni, Jon Stewart, and Richard Jenkins.
The actress is also expected to return to the MCU in the sequel for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, but currently no official date has been set for either the start of production or release of the film.
