Ultimate Summary: Apple is working on a foldable with similar screen sizes to the original Pixel Fold. It features a 5.49-inch cover display, 7.74-inch inner display and is expected to be released next year, according to a leaker.
Apple is apparently working on a foldable, though we’ve only seen sporadic leaks about it so far. That changes today, as leaker Digital Chat Station has mentioned on Weibo, the screen sizes of the iPhone Fold.
Apparently, Apple is going with a 5.49-inch cover display and a 7.74-inch inner display. That would make it a fairly wide foldable, even wider than the original Pixel Fold which had a larger front display and smaller inner display. Of course, we don’t know what the bezels or aspect ratio are going to be like here. But it definitely sounds like Apple is going with a more passport-style foldable here.
This is actually a fairly small foldable, as things currently stand. As the Pixel 9 Pro Fold has over 8-inch display, and the upcoming OPPO Find N5 is rumored to be even larger. Though, we are still going to need to wait until at least next year to see Apple’s first foldable device.
Apple also rumored to be working on an iPad/Mac foldable
Apple has long been rumored to be working an iPad and/or Mac foldable, which does make more sense than a foldable iPhone. Allowing you to go from an iPad Mini size tablet to something larger like a 13-inch iPad Pro.
Either way, it’s quite clear that Apple is working on foldable devices, whether it’s going to come out soon is another question. The thing with Apple is, because of their scale, they need to be able to get tens of millions of parts before they can add a feature to a phone or other product. It’s a similar case for Samsung with the Galaxy S series, though Samsung does make the majority of the parts used in its phones, so it’s a smaller issue.
