Apple has removed stickers from the iPhone 16 retail box. The “Apple stickers” won’t be included because Apple wants to push its eco-friendly and sustainability initiatives.
Apple removes stickers leaving nothing more than iPhone 16 phones in the box?
Apple has been steadily removing products from the iPhone retail box. Over the years, Apple has removed earphones, charging adapters, as well as cleaning cloth from the packaging.
Moving forward, Apple won’t include even the “Apple stickers”. Apple reportedly distributed an internal communication to Apple Store teams this week confirming the decision.
Apple’s message confirms that none of the iPhone 16 series iOS smartphones’ retail boxes will have Apple stickers. The company claims it chose to remove stickers from the retail packaging to further its eco-friendly and sustainability goals.
Specifically speaking, Apple aims to become carbon neutral by 2030. Under Apple’s environmental goals, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro packaging is entirely fiber-based. Apple reportedly claimed it intends to eliminate all plastic from its packaging by next year.
How to get Apple Stickers?
Apple started removing Apple stickers from the retail packaging with the Apple Vision Pro headset. Earlier this year, John Gruber polled X (formerly Twitter) users to gauge public opinion about not finding stickers in the iPhone box. The majority of responders agreed with Apple that it was time to “stop wasting the materials”.

Apple iPhone 16 buyers, who are determined to get the Apple stickers, will have to approach a sales representative at the time of purchase. In other words, buyers would have to purchase their latest iOS smartphone at an Apple Store.
Even third-party retailers and carrier partners reportedly do not have access to Apple stickers. Moreover, buyers who order an iPhone 16 for “home delivery” won’t get them.
Moving forward, the iPhone retail packaging should include the iPhone itself, a USB-C to USB-C cable for charging, a warranty card, and information leaflets. There would also be a SIM ejector tool in regions where the iOS smartphone takes a physical SIM card.
