Apple could introduce the next-gen iPhone SE model during an event on February 19. Apple CEO has teased the launch of some unspecified products next Wednesday and the iPhone SE 4 could be one of them. Ahead of the launch, a handful of details regarding the phone have already surfaced online. Now, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that the company will ship around 22 million iPhone SE 4 units in 2025.
iPhone SE 4 will make a bigger impact on the market than its predecessors
According to Kuo, the iPhone SE 4 shipments could hit around 12 million units in the first half of 2025. Furthermore, the analyst suggests that the Cupertino tech giant could ship approximately 10 million iPhone SE 4 units in the second half of the year. These numbers indicate that the new iPhone SE model could outperform its predecessors, which typically shipped approx. 20 million units annually post the launch.
Analysts expect the iPhone SE 4 to significantly impact Apple’s product lineup this year. It will launch a new iPhone SE model three years after the launch of the iPhone SE 3 model in 2022. Notably, the larger iPhone SE 4 shipments will also boost the adoption of Apple Intelligence-equipped devices.
Kuo also mentioned that the iPhone SE 4 will have Apple’s in-house modem. It will be a significant step towards reducing its reliance on Qualcomm for modems. However, the same move may lead to legal issues, with Qualcomm reportedly planning to scrutinize its modem patents to get some licensing fees from Apple.
Major upgrades expected
We expect Apple will provide major upgrades with the iPhone SE 4 compared to the previous models. It could feature a 6.1-inch OLED panel along with Face ID support instead of the company’s iconic home button on the predecessors. Rumors claim that Apple will incorporate an iPhone 14-like design on the iPhone SE 4, which means you will get a bigger screen and a wide notch.
Furthermore, the rumor mill suggests that Apple could use the A18 chip in the iPhone SE 4, just like the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. Apple Intelligence generative AI features will also be part of the package. Notably, the new SE model could have a minimum of 8GB of RAM as compared to the 4GB available on its predecessor. Unfortunately, a recent report suggested that the iPhone SE 4’s base model will have a paltry 64GB of storage.
That said, all these upgrades will cost you $499 for the base iPhone SE 4 configuration. We will find out more in just a matter of days.
