The latest firmware brings various fixes related to the Camera app of the Pixel phones.

According to the official changelog, the Android 15 Beta 4.2 update fixes a handful of bugs related to the Camera app. The new firmware fixes a problem where a gray transparent bar was showing up when using the camera. It addresses the bug that was causing low frame rates in the videos. Furthermore, the new Android 15 beta update fixes the issues that were causing a crash when changing zoom values. Another camera fix in the new firmware is related to the camera saturation.

Besides, the new Android 15 beta update also fixes an issue where some phones were delayed in waking up. Also, it addresses the bugs causing the user interface to flicker and the YouTube app to crash.

The latest beta update is rolling out over the air to eligible Pixel devices

The Android 15 Beta 4.2 version is rolling out over the air to eligible Google Pixel smartphones and tablets. The build number of the new firmware is AP31.240617.015. It is rolling out to the Pixel 8a, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7, Pixel 6a, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet.

If your device is running Android 14 QPR3, 15 Developer Preview, or earlier beta builds, you will receive an OTA update soon. Notably, the new Android 15 Beta 4.2 update is not available for the older Pixel 5 series devices. They’ve already received their final updates in June.
