Google has just released the latest Android 13 developer preview. So far, we’re all enjoying the slew of new features the company is giving us. Thanks to 9To5Google, there are a ton of new features discovered in the software. Along with a clipboard editor, there are a few new features in the Android 13 developer preview.

With the first developer preview, we saw a few changes and additions to Android, but nothing really to write home about. Now, with the second developer preview out, there’s a ton more to dig up. If you’re excited to see more Android 13 features, then this is just the beginning. The First beta will drop next month and we’ll have more news when Google I/O comes.

Android 13 will come with a clipboard editor

Gboard introduced this really useful clipboard feature a while back, and it’s one of the best reasons to use it. When you copy a section of text or take a screenshot, they’ll be added to your clipboard. While using the Gboard, you’re able to access all of the items saved in your clipboard.

Right now, people are able to quickly paste the contents of the item in a text field by tapping on it. While that’s really neat and useful, Android 13 will give you the ability to actually edit the items in your clipboard.

When you copy a bit of text, you’ll get a small preview on the bottom corner of the screen much like when you take a screenshot. From there, you’ll see a pencil icon that’ll let you actually edit the contents of the selection. This is great if you’ll be pasting something to multiple spots, but you don’t want to edit the text every time you paste.

There are more features coming as well

Along with the clipboard editor, Android 13 will have a “chip” in the status bar that shows whose profile is currently active. The chip will show the actual profile picture and the name of the account. You’ll see it both while the notification shade is displayed and when it’s not.

Next, you’ll have another scheduling option for the dark theme. You’ll be able to set the dark mode to activate during your designated bedtime. This is useful when you’re using your phone after your bedtime.

Last, but not least, we have a new location for the search bar in the app drawer. When you summon the app drawer, the search bar will be at the bottom of the screen rather than the top. Suffice to say, that makes it easier to reach.
