Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 users in the US can rejoice. The stable Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update has reached stateside. Verizon is now rolling out the big update to the two Samsung foldables. Units on other wireless carriers should also soon make the jump to Android 12.
For users on Verizon, the new update for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 bears the software version F926USQS1BUL6. That for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 comes with the identifier F711USQS2BUL6. The big update for both devices expectedly bundles the December 2021 Android security patch.
As with any other major Android update, Android 12-based One UI 4.0 brings tons of new features and enhancements to Samsung devices. We have covered the full changelog of the latest version here. The Korean firm also offers a bunch of exclusive features to its foldables. These features leverage the unique form factor of the devices to enhance productivity.
Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 receive the stable Android 12 update in the US
The Galaxy S21 series was the first to receive the stable One UI 4.0 update from Samsung. The rollout began in mid-November starting in South Korea. The company then added the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 to party earlier this month. However, the rollout has been a stop-start due to bugs and other issues.
Samsung eventually set things right and resumed the update yesterday. The company also expanded the availability of the new software package to other regions. And now, we have it here in the US as well.
Along with the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3, Samsung has also released the stable One UI 4.0 update to the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note 20 series, and Galaxy S10 series. Availability of the new update for these phones vary, but it shouldn’t be long before the company begins the rollout stateside.
As always, you’ll be notified of the OTA (over the air) update once it hits your phone. You can also manually check for the updates by navigating to Settings > Software update and tapping on Download and install. It’s advisable to create a backup of all important files before installing the new software to avoid any unwanted data loss. As said before, Samsung messed up a few things with the initial One UI 4.0 stable builds. So it’s better to get yourself covered. We also recommend you connect the phone to a stable Wi-Fi network if you’re on limited cellular data.
