One UI 4.0 is the latest version of Samsung’s in-house UI, which is based on Android 12. The beta version is now rolling out for the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy S20 models in the US.
Samsung Galaxy S21 series are the first smartphones from the company to receive the stable version of the One UI 4 Android 12 update. Other devices from the company’s portfolio are receiving their beta updates.
Just to remind you, the Exynos variants of the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S20 have already bagged the first build of the One UI 4 Android 12 beta update.
This time around, it is the turn for the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S20 lineup in the US to get a taste of the latest Android 12 One UI 4 beta update.
The Android 12 update brings the new Material You design with rounded corners and new notifications, new quick settings toggles, new icons. It also brings Dynamic Color support that applies the dominant color of your wallpaper to all the theming elements.
Along with all the Android 12 goodies, the beta update for the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S20 also brings One UI 4.0 features with the bundle.
The Galaxy Note 20 Android 12 update is available via the Samsung Members app
According to 9To5Google, the One UI 4 Android 12 beta update for the Galaxy Note 20, Note 20 Ultra, Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra is live via the Samsung Members app.
Users of the Galaxy Note 20 and S20 series have confirmed the reception of the One UI 4 beta update on their devices over the Reddit platform.
In order to enroll yourself, using your eligible device, you need to look at a card on the Samsung Members app. Tapping on the card will allow you to join the beta program. After enrolling, you can head to Software Updates under the Settings menu to grab the Android 12 beta update.
Samsung has made some aesthetic changes to its One UI. Apparently, it has added dark mode icons on the home screen. One UI 4.0 also brings updated stock apps, with other features.
Notably, the update seems to be available for all unlocked Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S20 variants in the US. Presumably, the update is also available in other countries as well.
As per the official timeline from Samsung, the Galaxy Note 20 series is scheduled to get the stable Android 12 update sometime in January. The same is the case for the Galaxy S20 lineup.
However, the smallest phone in the Galaxy S20 lineup, the Galaxy S20 is expected to get the update in February.
