In a surprising turn of events, the 2015 model of the Nvidia Shield TV is getting the Android 11 update. Yes! You heard it right, after skipping the Android 10 update, the Android 11 update for 2015 Nvidia Shield TV.
Nvidia Shield TV streamers are some of the best Android TV boxes that your money can purchase. Although they are a bit on the expensive side, you get such little surprises that it makes spending extra money worth it.
It is more surprising because Nvidia could have easily left its 2015 Shield TV with Android 9, but the company decided to treat its users.
The wait for a significant update is now over, as the Android 11 update is live for the 2015 Nvidia Shield TV. The company was testing Android 11 as a part of a closed beta program since October 2021.
Fast forward to now, according to a new report by Android Authority, the stable update is rolling out for the users of the device. Newer models will also soon receive the update.
The Android 11 update brings the new Shield Experience 9.0 for the 2015 model of the Shield TV. This also makes the device one of the older devices to receive the Android 11 update.

Well, you shouldn’t expect a lot of visual changes. However, there are a bunch of new features coming with the Android 11 update for the 2015 Nvidia Sheild TV.
To start off with, the Android 11 update brings an updated Gboard that is meant to make your typing-related things on the TV much easier.
Then, the Shield TV is gaining support for aptX-compatible headphones, allowing you to connect high-quality Bluetooth headphones to your TV.
There are all the other standard Android 11 features included as well, including refreshed permission settings for taking the security level, a notch above.
The new update also enables an enhanced viewing experience with Dolby Vision HDR support in Google Play Movies & TV. The update also brings support for streaming video content from Amazon, Apple TV, and VUVU using Movies Anywhere.
You can also stream 4K HDR movies via IMDb TV and Apple TV as well. So, this update makes your content streaming problems sorted.
