Alleged Xiaomi MIX 5 appears out of the blue with under-display camera

The Xiaomi MIX 4 was launched back in 2021. We’ve seen some Xiaomi MIX 5 rumors last year, but the device never launched. It has been quite some time since anything related to that phone surfaced. Well, now the alleged Xiaomi MIX 5 appeared in a real-life image, and it has an under-display camera.

The image has been shared by Digital Chat Station, a well-known tipster. The thing is, he himself is not sure if this is the Xiaomi MIX 5. You can check out the image he shared below this paragraph.

If this phone looks familiar, well, that’s probably because it reminds you of the RedMagic 8 Pro. The thing is, if you take a closer look at the phone, and compare it directly with the RedMagic 8 Pro, you’ll notice that even the antenna lines are in the same places.

So, what’s going on here? Well, quite frankly, we’re not sure. If not for the about phone screen, I’d wager this is a fake image. The about phone screen does look legit, and it even mentions the MIX 5 on it.

It looks almost identical to the RedMagic 8 Pro

It’s not only odd that this phone looks just like the RedMagic 8 Pro, but the fact that it doesn’t seem to have a power key, at least not one that is visible. That is actually one area in which it differentiates from the RedMagic 8 Pro.

This phone sure did bring some confusion to the table. And no, RedMagic is not Xiaomi’s company, so this is not just a rebrand of the RedMagic 8 Pro, that much is for sure.

It has truly powerful specs

Now, if you pay attention to the about phone screen, you’ll notice some specs are listed here. This phone seemingly features a 6.73-inch QHD+ (3200 x 1440) display, and offers 12GB of RAM.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC is also mentioned here, as is a 4,820mAh battery. This model offers 512GB of internal storage, and MIUI 14 comes pre-installed on it.

The Xiaomi MIX 4 launched back in August 2021, so the MIX 5 could arrive around the same time this year. As mentioned earlier, though, take this leak with a grain of salt.
