Riot has outdone themselves, and our readers are taking notice

Our readers have spoken, and the best mobile game of 2021 is League Of Legends: Wild Rift, earning it our AH Reader’s Choice Awards badge for the year. Since this was also our own pick for best mobile game, we’re not too surprised by the votes. Although, it is worth mentioning that it’s not a landslide like with the best smartwatch, where the Galaxy Watch 4 was miles ahead of any other option listed.

And to be entirely transparent, League of Legends: Wild Rift is not a true winner of the AH Reader’s Choice Awards. It actually tied with Diablo Immortal. Now, we know what you’re probably thinking. Diablo Immortal isn’t out yet and is only available to a select group of players from a few different regions as part of a closed beta.

Which is why we were kind of surprised that it tied with a fully launched game that almost anyone can play. That being said, Diablo Immortal is a fantastic mobile game, and it certainly deserves the votes it got as well. Having said that, Diablo Immortal hasn’t officially launched and Wild Rift has. So we chose to highlight Wild Rift more for this award.

League Of Legends: Wild Rift is popular with the players, and it’s easy to see why

Look, Diablo Immortal is a great game. And we can’t wait for its release. Many players are eager for it as well. But, League Of Legends: Wild Rift is here now, and it’s just as popular with the players. And we get it.

It isn’t often that you find such a good portrayal of a AAA game ported to the mobile platform. It’s few and far between, but Riot has managed to do it in a way that is both appealing and inspiring. Players have certainly taken notice.

League of Legends was already a popular game. So it was poised to do well on mobile if it was done right. And Riot most certainly did it right. Not only does it have that familiar League Of Legends feel, but it’s been streamlined perfectly for mobile devices.

Shorter matches, easier controls, and a growing, yet still currently wide range of champions to add some lineup diversity. All of these things and more help contribute to why this game is doing so well. And why our readers have voted for League Of Legends: Wild Rift to be the best mobile game of 2021 for the AH Reader’s Choice Awards.

It also helps that the game is free like its PC counterpart. And while micro transactions are present in this version of the game as well, they aren’t overbearing like they are with some games. Which makes a big difference.

If you’ve yet to give League of Legends: Wild Rift a try, we highly recommend that you check it out. Even if you’re completely new to the MOBA game genre. This is one game you’re going to want to try. Riot does a great job at teaching new players how to play too. So don’t fear not knowing the core game mechanics. All of that comes practice.
