Adobe finally decided to pull the trigger and put an end to the Photoshop Mix and Photoshop Fix apps on Android as well. The company had already done it on iOS in 2021, but for some reason, it took them a few more years on Google’s mobile OS.
Photoshop Mix and Photoshop Fix are a couple of Adobe apps with quite specific goals. “Mix” basically allows you to blend or combine more than two images in a simple way. Meanwhile, “Fix” is an app that includes a set of options for quick tweaks to pictures. Both stopped receiving updates in 2021, the same year they were removed from the App Store. So, you could say that on Android, they were in a “zombie” state, functional but without any support.
Adobe sunsets Photoshop “Mix” and “Fix” Android apps; users getting email notifications
Now, the company is notifying users of the Photoshop Mix and Photoshop Fix apps about the shutdown of both. Those who have used the app in the past are receiving the notice via email. Currently, none of the apps are available in the Google Play Store. You will only see them if you had them installed before they were removed. However, although the apps continue to work in this latter case, it is temporary, as they will stop working as of June 4, 2024, according to the email.
After the Photoshop Mix and Fix Android apps sunset, the company encourages users to switch to Photoshop Express as an alternative (not Adobe Express, that’s another app). This one, available for both Android and iOS, offers much more advanced editing and retouching capabilities than Photoshop Fix. However, the Android version does not integrate Photoshop Mix functions. So, those people who used Mix a lot in their daily lives will have to look for an alternative in another additional app.
