The world of software is full of major overhauls and minor tweaks. A new update to the YouTube Music app is one of the latter. A Reddit user reports that there’s a new Add to Playlist UI in the app that looks really nice.

There’s a new Add to Playlist UI in YouTube Music

Despite having a not-so-warm welcome when it replaced Google Play Music, YouTube Music remains a widely used music streaming platform. One user on Reddit reported a new UI that pops up when they tried adding a song to a playlist. The Add to Playlist menu that pops got a small yet pleasing update.

Typically, when you try to add a song to a playlist, you’ll get a simple list of your created playlists. The first section would show your most recent playlists, and the second section would show all of your playlists in alphabetical order. With the update, your most recent playlists will be displayed on a horizontal carousel up top. Below that, you’ll see the other playlists presented vertically in alphabetical order.

This is a pretty small aesthetic change, but it’s a nice addition. It doesn’t change much when it comes to function, but it’s still a nice addition. However, there is one functional change with this new look. Looking at the screenshot, we see the number of songs is now displayed beside the playlist.

Right now, it doesn’t seem to be on a lot of devices. I haven’t been able to get it on my Pixel 6 or my LG Velvet, so it’s still rolling out, most likely.

In Other YouTube News: You can now like and comment on videos with a tap

We’re all used to swiping up on a YouTube video to access certain controls. You’ll be able to like/dislike, share, and add to playlist options. This is really convenient, but YouTube wants to make it even more convenient. The company added a new update that will let you do so without interrupting the video.

All you have to do is tap on the video. When the pause and skip options pop up, you’ll see the controls at the bottom of the screen. You’ll be able to interact with the video just as you could before except the related videos won’t get in your way. What’s more, is that you now have the option to comment on a video from that little menu.

If you don’t see the new menu, then you’ll need to make sure your version of the app is up to date. If you still don’t see it, then it may mean that the feature is still rolling out.
